Sleep Evaluation, Assessment, and Treatment

At AirSync Integrative Dentistry, we believe it is all about the assessment. Without a proper assessment, there cannot be a correct diagnosis. And without the proper diagnosis, one’s health will never be optimal. Every patient who comes into our clinic will receive a full evaluation and assessment, along with a plan for addressing any issues that are found in the evaluation. When needed, a sleep evaluation will be performed to track one’s habits and occurrences while sleeping. For infants, this means a little bit of spying while they’re sleeping. We’ll get you all set up with a checklist for an educated “spy session”.

Jaw Development: early growth guidance for healthy airway, healthy sleep, and naturally straight teeth

Addressing an infant’s tongue and mouth habits play a role in jaw development. We encourage parents to bring your babies in early on for an evaluation and full their oral and airway areas to ensure that they are forming properly and there is nothing that needs attention. Proper oral and jaw development aids longterm with eating, breathing, sleeping, and a myriad of other things.

Preventive pediatric care

Infants should begin to visit the dentist twice per year, approximately 6-12 months after their first tooth eruption. The Drs. Santiago and the AirSync team will help first and foremost help them to become comfortable with the inspection of their mouth and teeth. It will so look for any oral structural issues, tooth decay, cavities, gum disease, gingivitis, enamel erosion, tooth or gum abnormalities, and the need for early orthodontic treatment.

Non-surgical treatment of enlarged Tonsils & Adenoids -

Many patients arrive at our office with enlarged tonsils and adenoids. We utilize a laser that helps to soften and shrink the tissues to avoid surgery in a gentle way. A non-surgical and holistic approach is always our preference. In some cases, we will refer out to one of our expert partners for surgery.

If the enlargement is severe, we sometimes advise and refer for surgery. If there is a little time, we can very successfully shrink the tonsils with a combination of training nasal breathing to infuse the tissues with nitric oxide and referral to a specific Naturopath who treats the tissues holistically. There can be subclinical levels of bacteria, fungi, or viruses hiding in the inflamed tissues and causing chronic low-level inflammation perpetuating the enlarged tissues. With the identification of the microbes, the naturopath can treat the infection with homeopathic regimens and successfully shrink the tissues within a matter of months.
