The Comprehensive Infant Assessment

The AirSync Infant Assessment is not just about the physical examination of the mouth, but about the oral function, the neurological input to the oral muscles, nasal breathing, setting the expectations for optimal feeding, thriving, sleep, and growth.

We follow a function first approach to care. Assess and address function and neurology, then surgery. This may mean BabyLase sessions or craniosacral therapy prior to surgery. We seek to get you the most successful outcome, with the least amount of risk and stress to your baby’s body.

BabyLase

Getting the nervous system onboard for proper feeding is essential! Babies who are born prematurely, who have diminished or heightened reflexes, tethered oral tissues (ties), who are in a constant state of stress, or a previous failed tongue-tie surgery NEED BabyLase. It is a special laser therapy that does the following:

  1. Brings balance to a dysregulated/unbalanced nervous system…calms baby

  2. Helps to bring all of the reflexes online

  3. Prepares the tissues for surgery: the tissue under the tongue are softer, better definition of the tie, a more conservative surgery, better healing, less scar tissue

BabyLase can only be performed by a BabyLase certified provider and with the Fotona family of lasers with a 1064nm wavelength.

Dr. Santiago and AirSync Integrative Dentistry, is one of 32 certified BabyLase providers in the world!!! It is pretty fantastic to be able to be the first WA provider to bring this technology and therapy to Issaquah and the greater Seattle area.

The Tongue-Tie Surgery

The surgery is done with expertise, the utmost care and kindness. With BabyLase prior to surgery, the surgery is more efficient, less invasive, and this results in happier babies and parents!

AirSync is the longest running infant laser tongue-tie practice in the Puget Sound. We have the longevity and the expertise!

The Long-Term Follow-Up

We see your family back at 1-week and 1-month after the surgery date to make sure wound healing is going well, stretches are going well, function is optimizing, and baby is happy and thriving. We will also invite you back for a complimentary 6-month birthday well-check to guide you on all things function, sleep, and the guided growth and development of your most precious little human.

You can make a HUGE contribution to your child’s well-being with diligent well-checks in our Littles Initiative program.
