MARPE + Airway Orthodontics

At AirSync, we treat the foundation first. By developing properly sized airways and jaws (forward, vertical, and width) before moving teeth, we create space for the tongue, stabilize the bite, and open the airway. Dr. Kimberly is a recognized expert in MARPE, personally designing each appliance for complex jaw and tooth movements, and placing every MARPE herself in-office. This avoids costly surgical referrals and gives you the choice of sedation—most surgeons would make the anesthesia decision for you.  AirSync offers at minimum local anesthesia, laughing gas and the ability to go to sleep with Elite Anesthesia supervising.

In addition to custom MARPE, AirSync offers a full range of 3D jaw expansion treatments tailored to each patient’s specific anatomy and needs:

• Clear Aligners — personally customized by Dr. Kimberly—aligning teeth for both airway health and aesthetics, never relying on default aligner company setups, like most providers do.
• Cranial TMJ Orthotics — precisely designed to support neurologic stability, heal TMJs, align cranial bones, and guide the lower jaw into a stable, comfortable position.
• Homeoblock & POD Appliances — These are slow moving cranial, symmetry, healing appliances but do not expand the jaw.
• Custom Protractive Plates — designed to move the upper jaw forward in conjunction with a MARPE.
• The Bow Facemask — To stimulate forward movement and growth of the upper jaw.
• SFOT — a periodontal procedure paired with airway orthodontics to widen the lower jaw, improve bone and gum health, and in a very efficient time. It also moves upper front teeth forward or enhances expansion after MARPE, when needed.
